The abbey was founded by the local monks 1000 years ago, as place for cult and meditation. The abbey was inherited, after the War, by Pietro Stucchi Prinetti who transformed it in the present business. His wife starting from the beginning of the ’80 founded the famous cooking school.
Today the business is run by the two sons and the daughter of the couple. Emanuela, who was the first woman to be president of The Consorzio of the Chianti Classico, takes care of the promotion and of the external relationships; Paolo takes care of the Badia restaurant in Coltibuono, while Roberto, who concerted all the vineyards, the olive groves and all the property into organic, deals with the productive aspects.
